In 2023, CPS, the nations 4th largest school district launched a micro-credentialing pathway for its new district-wide curriculum, Skyline. The Skyline Essentials Badges quickly became the cornerstone of a robust profession learning plan and an entry-point to the digital learning ecosystem designed where Skyline was built. 2 years on, we will reflect on the impact of awarding over 12k badges across 400+ schools. We will ask, “How can micro-credentials be designed and implemented to sustain inclusive communities of practice that elevate diverse voices, experiences, and teaching contexts?” Seeking input from participants we will explore lessons learned and share our ambitions as we launched a new credentialing pathway around learning about GenAI.
