Nate Otto is the founder of Skybridge Skills, a digital credentials technology vendor offering hosted solutions including ORCA, the Open Recognition Community App. Previously, he was the creator of Badgr, a leading Open Badges issuing platform. Nate has contributed to open standards and vocabularies related to digital badges and credentials for over a decade, including Open Badges, CLR, CTDL, and Verifiable Credentials. Nate holds a Political Science and English degree from the University of Oregon, and a "Path of Totality" badge from the 2017 North American eclipse, among other achievements. His work prioritizes data privacy, open ecosystems, and playfulness as the keys to sustainable distributed ecosystems for digital credentials.
